National EMS Week

May 18 through 24 marks National Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week 2025. Our mission at Heart to Beat is all about preventing and responding to emergency situations, and many of our team members are former or current EMS personnel. We have an innate understanding of, and appreciation for, the vital work done by these dedicated people.

This year’s EMS Week theme, “We Care. For Everyone,” underlines the unwavering commitment of EMS professionals to provide lifesaving care to all individuals, regardless of their location or circumstance.

Established in 1974 by President Gerald Ford, EMS Week serves to honor the contributions of emergency medical technicians (EMTs), paramedics, and other prehospital care providers. These are the people on the front lines in emergencies, the first to respond, delivering critical care that significantly improves patient outcomes.

The 2025 EMS Week will feature daily themes to highlight various aspects of the EMS universe:

  • Sunday, May 18: Health, Wellness, and Resilience Day
  • Monday, May 19: EMS Education Day
  • Tuesday, May 20: EMS Safety Day
  • Wednesday, May 21: EMS for Children Day
  • Thursday, May 22: Save-A-Life Day (Community Blood Drive, CPR & National Stop the Bleed Day)
  • Friday, May 23: EMS Recognition Day
  • Saturday, May 24: EMS Remembrance Day

These themes aim to promote public awareness, encourage community engagement, and recognize the diverse roles within the EMS profession. For more information on how you can participate, and additional resources, visit emsweek.org.

Join us in thanking the people who work so hard, often in very difficult circumstances, to preserve our safety and wellness. Many of us literally would not be here without them.
